Cougar No Mas

We interrupt BabsieD Hostess Week to bring you my new replacement term for "Cougar," of which I'm a about-to-be borderline member so I'm definitely in favor of a rename.

Doyennes-In-Ten.

You like?

I love it! At what age is one a doyenne-in-ten? (Or to invoke the c word - at what age is one a cougar?)

I would say anything above 33? The DC version of the Upper East Side Blonde: not afraid of a line item in their budget for "hair maintenance," really active philanthropically, taking the preliminary steps to avoid the big face lift in 10, your typical one80 client.

Anyone else have an addition to the definition?

So a cougar cub would be 25-32?

A cougar is a mid-30's to mid-50's woman who's on the prowl for younger men. The latest term guys are now throwing around is Jaguar...for the women in that age range who are actually smokin' hot, well put together and honestly, a bit of a sugar mommma. Melanie Griffith = Cougar. Catherine Zeta Jones = Jaguar.

Good question, my Leeetle Cougarrr Cub.

And yes, Jaguar is genius. But can one call oneself a Jaguar? Though if you're that fabulous and of that age, then you're that confident as well.

I don't think you can be a D before at least 42 (and even that would take a few incredibly astute marriages, board chairmanships and Demeulemester Bootcamp training by some of the greats), so D-I-T is 34-41ish, and your Cubs (or for purposes here, Doyenettes?) would be 29-33. I don't think you can even be considered to be in the running until then.

Prior to that, you're still a sorority girl finding your way (see Madisons, The).
